Read case studySmCo magnets are typically selected when applications involve either sustained operating temperatures above ~180–200 °C, chemically aggressive or corrosive environments, or tight magnetic stability requirements over temperature. If maximum magnetic strength is the priority, neodymium may be more suitable.
It is also important to note that SmCo magnets are hard and brittle. We provide guidance on handling, tolerances, edge conditions, and assembly integration to reduce risk during manufacture and installation, but care should be taken to avoid contact either in the application or in the assembly of the product it is used in.
